The other side of festive season FUN

Right, so my entry lately has been rather mellow and sad, which is somehow sounded wrong for Christmas festive period. Christmas is a great reason to be.... joyful and happy.

Well at least my little boy enjoys his christmas no matter what, thanks to church friends and his childminder, Julie, who make loads of effort and activity for him to do.

Narrated by Josiah.

So mommey said that Christmas is coming. People are suddenly busy shopping and decorating. Miss Julie put up a lot of nice decoration in her house, not to mention her lovely christmas tree. However, there is no christmas decoration at home.
Mommey said she can't be bothered to look for one. Good thing that clever Ms. Julie decided we are going to make one!
Not only that, we also made some cute snowman. Mine is the fattest. Mommey said it looks just like me except it is white.
On cold wintery day, we still go outside and have a walk. Ms Julie said we have to keep walking on the kerb, far away from traffic, and hold each other hand just like this...
And if we've been a good boy, after a busy day... we get our reward.
But it's different story when it start to gets really cold outside. I watch a white cotton like stuff swaying in the wind outside. Ms Julie said it's snowing, and later on we can play sledding outside.
It was sooo... much fun. I don't know why Mommey hate snow so much. She said it causes traffic jam and accident. Adult are surely strange.
I also see loads of light outside people's home. Mommey said Christmas is a birthday of a King called Jesus. However, she said it just so happen that my birthday is somewhat on the same month.
After tiring day of making craft, sledding and eating ice cream. It would be nice to have a snuggle while watching DVD on the couch.
This is a life of a toddler, and I am loving it! Happy Christmas everyone, Happy birthday Jesus!

Happy birthday Precious

I know I am jotting this this down amidst so many things going on in my mind and so many things left to do. My husband just had another job rejection after his first final round interview this year, which did screw thing up quite a bit.
By no means, this is will be THE ONLY job will left us option to stay put where we are at the moment. Yes, he had few other company interview him next year but all of those will require us relocating, not only city, probably country!

So here we are busy preparing for christmas in church, getting ready to go back home (yes we heading home on the 23rd!), and in between try to juggle strenous interview preparation....and my little boy's birthday is practically left as the very last priority.

We sort of bought him a thomas cake from sainsbury (local grocery shop), we had no time to celebrate it ourselves, so chuck the cake to the preschool and let him have 10 minute celebration. And worse still, on the day he had his birthday was the company christmas dinner, and I missed it last year due to flu bug. So there he was waiting on the childminder house till 10pm on his birthday. And the worst is... we has not got time to find him a birthday present!!!
Lucky for me, he does not seem to understand that it is his special day. At first he thought it was christmas party because there was a christmas tree, then he tought it is thomas birthday because thomas stuff were practically every gift he opened.
I feel really sorry for my little man, he was practically forgotten by almost everyone. I promise, next year I'll do better!

My First Christmas in Heaven

Christmas, is normally a joyful occassion to many family and Christian likewise. But sadly, about a month ago, a little boy named Noah Biorkman, a 5 year old boy, died on his battle against Neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer.

Noah had been fighting cancer since he was 3 years old. He was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in February 2007, went into remission six months later but relapsed in September 2008.
Fortunately, knowing his time was short, Noah wanted to celebrate Christmas early. The family has appeal to everyone across the globe to send christmas card and gift to their address. One of the online newspaper broadcasting his action opening christmas cards and present. The 5-year-old said an angel figurine ornament was his favorite because it reminded him of where he'll soon be.

"In heaven, and I'm going to be an angel," Noah said.

Today, little Noah will celebrate his first ever Christmas in heaven, this time with the birthday boy, sitting next to him.

My First Christmas in Heaven (DebinVA)

I see the countless
Christmas trees
around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars,
reflecting on the snow

The sight is so spectacular,
please wipe away the tear
For I am spending Christmas with
Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs
that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare
with the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you,
the joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description,
to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart.
But I am not so far away,
We really aren't apart.

So be happy for me, dear ones,
You know I hold you dear.
And be glad I'm spending Christmas
with Jesus Christ this year.

I sent you each a special gift,
from my heavenly home above.
I sent you each a memory
of my undying love.

After all, love is a gift more precious
than pure gold.
was always most important
the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other,
my Father said to do.
I can't count the blessing or love
has for each of you.

So have a Merry Christmas and
Wipe away that tear
Remember, I am spending Christmas with
Jesus Christ this year

I can imagine that Christ child has already known His mission on the cross of Calvary the day he was sent to be born in a manger. Just like Noah's parent, it must be hard for Jesus's mother to watch his son to die on Calvary. Let us remember that, forgiveness through Jesus is the best gift God gave to human kind.

Happy Christmas everyone.

Parent's trap

A story from a friend :

An elderly man in Mumbai calls his son in New York and says, 'I hate to ruin your day son, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are getting a divorce; 35 years of marriage... and that much misery is enough!'

'Dad, what are you talking about?' the son screams.

'We can't stand the sight of each other any longer,' the old man says.'We're sick of each other, and I'm sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Hong Kong and tell her!'

Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone.

'Like heck they're getting divorced,' she shouts, 'I'll take care of this.'

She calls Mumbai immediately, and screams at the old man, 'You are not getting divorced. Don't do a single thing until I get there. I'm calling my brother back, and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then, don't do a thing, DO YOU HEAR??' and she hangs up.

The old man hangs up his phone and turns to his wife. 'Okay', he says, 'It's all set. They're both coming for our anniversary and paying their own airfare!!'

Lesson learn : go home often, don't make your parents went through extra mile and pull up tricks on you.

Happy Weekend!!!

All about TRAIN

For my 3 year old, life is obviously NOT fun without train. So, as we had been doing this since he was born (and acquire this hobby), that is to visit local model railway exhibition.

Year by year we are always surprised again by how much labour and cost poured into this "hobby". The cost of this tiny locomotive is not cheap, it can easily cost somewhere above £100 each, not to mention you have to be gentle to it, clean it, dust it, oil it.
Some people must be spending awfully loads of time in landscaping this artwork. They are actually very tiny, the biggest tree on this landscaping only as tall as needle.

While there are others that somewhat rather big... like this one below.

But the best of all (according to my son) is to see this what they called "test-track". It is basically a big circular tracks with various sizes locomotive, trucks and coaches running on it. It is meant for testing (at the name said) before the loco is put as a part of certain landscape.
Yes, they all moves! In fact, they more very quick!

Our last stop before the day ends is this Thomas and his Friends model railway. The owner was surprisingly NOT a little boy, but more towards a great granddad. He is getting enthusiastic in explaining to a group of toddler who stand in amazement on his model railway (uh huh, my son is one of them).

"Sir, so how much time and money you spend on this?" I asked.

"I can estimate xxxx pound and xx hour."
Somehow, I regret to know his answer.

Thanks to God...

This week has been quite a roller coaster ride for three of us. My son had a cold again (this time with temperature), while my husband is not too well but he still need to go for interview. I still need to go to office too, since I have no more holiday left (I claimed all of my holiday to be with my family in Indonesia).
Nevertheless, God has never failed to show us how GOOD He is. He gave us strength to conquer those challenge everyday and gave us courage to trust Him and His promise.

As I read my bible this morning, I read 2 Cor 12 : 9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

I can't help but to thank the Lord for beautiful things He bestown in my life.

Thanks to God for my Redeemer,
Thanks for all Thou dost provide!
Thanks for times now but a memory,
Thanks for Jesus by my side!
Thanks for pleasant, balmy springtime,
Thanks for dark and stormy fall!
Thanks for tears by now forgotten,
Thanks for peace within my soul!

Thanks for prayers that Thou hast answered,
Thanks for what Thou dost deny!
Thanks for storms that I have weathered,
Thanks for all Thou dost supply!
Thanks for pain, and thanks for pleasure,
Thanks for comfort in despair!
Thanks for grace that none can measure,
Thanks for love beyond compare!

Thanks for roses by the wayside,
Thanks for thorns their stems contain!
Thanks for home and thanks for fireside,
Thanks for hope, that sweet refrain!
Thanks for joy and thanks for sorrow,
Thanks for heav’nly peace with Thee!
Thanks for hope in the tomorrow,
Thanks through all eternity!
